Terrain: The property is situated on a high woodland plateau that overlooks Beaver Creek Canyon and the surrounding Black Hills. The landscape includes rolling wooded terrain with ponderosa pine, spruce and quaking aspen trees mingled with juniper underbrush. The forest opens into several grassy meadows that offer nice sites for a summer cabin or possibly a year-round home. A portion of the east boundary extends to the rimrock edge of Beaver Creek Canyon. The elevation is in the 6,150 feet above sea level.

Wildlife: The surrounding area is prime habitat for a variety of wildlife including deer, elk, turkey, mountain lion, bobcat, coyote, fox, eagles and hawks.

Recreation: The property is situated in a tremendous recreational area. Mallo Camp, which is a county owned recreational facility, lies adjacent to the north side of the land and hundreds of thousands of acres of Black Hills National Forest lands can be accessed just 1.5 miles from the land. Groomed snowmobile trails and cross-country ski trails begin at Mallo Camp and traverse throughout the Black Hills. Ride from the property to destinations like Deadwood and Deerfield Lake. Nearby Beaver Creek offers trout fishing there are numerous camping sites in the area. This is an excellent location from which to enjoy the beauty and recreational amenities of the Black Hills.

Location & Access: The property is 1/4 mile east of Mallo Road, which is county-maintained. From Mallo Road the access is on a private access easement, which is currently an unimproved trail, which leads into the northwest corner of the property. The easement ends at the property. It's less than 5 miles to Highway 85 at Four Corners.
