Lytle Creek Ranch
Hulett, Wyoming
1,160 Acres - $SOLD

Introduction:  A hidden gem in the western Black Hills along Lytle Creek. This scenic mountain ranch lays adjacent to the National Forest on the west slope of the Bear Lodge Mountains. It offers live water, an incredible setting, and abundant wildlife in an end of the road location. The Lytle Creek Ranch has been in the same family for over 100 years. The entire east side of the ranch borders the Black Hills National Forest.

Property:  The ranch comprises 1,160 deeded acres. Approximately 215 acres of the property is tillable land, which is typically planted to alfalfa-grass hay.

Terrain:  The property encompasses a striking mixture of topographical features creating outstanding scenery and panoramic vistas. Pristine pine covered hills, steep canyons with rock bluffs, open parks, aspen groves, high plateaus with unobstructed views, rolling hay meadows, pretty creek bottoms and bur oak draws provide an exquisite landscape. Several spots on the ranch provide a view of Devils Tower and the Missouri Buttes.

Water: Almost two miles of Lytle Creek meanders through the south end of the ranch. Beaver have taken advantage of the environment along the creek and constructed some ponds. The ranch also has several springs, with one of the larger spring developments supplying water for the improvements and several stock tanks.

Improvements: The headquarters sits on a wide plateau in the north central part of the ranch and is accessed from the county road. This plateau is between the Blacktail Creek Valley and the Lytle Creek Valley. The home is a 2002 manufactured home with addition. Other buildings include a hunter's cabin, machine shed, shop, barn and several utility sheds.

Wildlife: The diversity of terrain, the feed base and access to water make excellent wildlife habitat on the ranch. Many species of wildlife frequent the area including Whitetail deer, elk, turkey, beaver, fox, coyote, mountain lion, eagles, and hawks.

Location: Located in northeastern Wyoming, the property is just 20 minutes southwest of Hulett. Other nearby Wyoming destinations are Devils Tower, Sundance, Moorcroft, Gillette and Keyhole State Park. The headquarters is accessed from Huseby County Road. Forest Service Road #847 runs though the south side of ranch.

Remarks: A truly rare find, this property has almost everything you could wish for in a Black Hills ranch. The combination of majestic vistas, a picturesque countryside, live water, privacy, wildlife and access to public lands make the Lytle Creek Ranch a place you'll want to enjoy for a lifetime.
